About this Course
Anxiety problems can present in a variety of ways, including; Panic disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder and Health/Illness Anxiety Disorder. Each of these specific anxiety problems can be treated effectively with individual, tailor-made cognitive behavioural treatment protocols. However, the effectiveness of these treatments relies heavily on the competence of the therapists delivering them. The more skilled and confident the therapist, the greater the likelihood of a good outcome for our client.
This final workshop, open only to those who have completed at least three of the five specific anxiety workshops, provides an opportunity to master the key therapeutic skills involved in treating Anxiety (using CBT). Skills and techniques such as; Socratic Dialogue, Cognitive Restructuring, Guided Discovery, Behavioural Experiments and Graded Exposure must be properly understood, and then practiced at length, in order to be delivered to good effect.

- a look at a wide variety of case examples from each of the separate anxiety disorders
- an opportunity to bring your own ‘hard-to-treat’ cases and clinical experiences
- an introduction to some ‘transdiagnostic’ approaches to treating anxiety
- a discussion about further ‘up-skilling’ and appropriate CBT supervison/training supports.
Who Should Attend:
This workshop is designed for those who have already completed at least three of the previous anxiety workshops/online courses and who wish to become even more specialised in using CBT protocols to treat anxiety problems. As with each of our ‘integrating good CBT’ workshops, this day will qualify for 6 hours of CPD credit.

Rosario has taught cognitive behavioural psychotherapy modules to degree level and, at a World Conference, presented research on vocational counselling. She has also worked on the Primary Care Counselling Programme – an excellent HSE programme designed to bring good quality psychotherapy to GP practices.
